AQUA’s sub contractor, Caddick Utilities, will continue the second phase of the excavation and watermain installation project on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 between the hours of 7AM to 3:00 PM.  The following closures will take place during this time to allow for the roadway to be excavated and the new watermain to be safely installed:     

Vernon Road will be closed to “thru traffic” from Homestead Road to Washington Lane,
Homestead Road will be closed to “thru traffic” from Cottman Street to York Road,
West Avenue will have temporary road closures from Vernon Road to Newbold Road AND
York Road will have temporary lane closures from West Avenue to Homestead Road

Mayor Dobbs would like to let residents know that the Jenkintown Police Department has a permanent drop box in the lobby of the Jenkintown Police Department that is available for medication drop off 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The drugs should be placed in a sealed container such as the original bottle or a zip lock bag (liquids should remain in the original container) and remove any personal information or obscure it with a permanent marker. Needles and intravenous injectable solutions would not accept here, however can be taken back to Abington Hospital’s Emergency Room for proper disposal.
