Phase Two of the Sanitary Sewer Lining Project will continue on Tuesday, November 19th 2019 on Cottman Street between West Avenue & Homestead Road from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM. During this phase of the project the contractor, National Water Main Cleaning Company, will complete spot repairs. This work being completed at this time should not cause any disruption to water/ sewer service to residents.

Jenkintown Borough Awarded $139,200 Park Construction Grant
On Thursday, November 14th, PA Governor Thomas Wolf on behalf of PA Senator Art Haywood and State Representative Steve McCarter via the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) awarded Jenkintown Borough $139, 200 for development of the Cedar Street Moretti Park project.
Important Public Meeting Dates
With the winter holidays fast approaching and important meetings taking place, please find below the meeting schedule for the remainder of 2019. All meetings are open to the public and will be held at Jenkintown Borough Hall, 700 Summit Avenue.
Design Review Board – Tuesday, November 19th, 2019 6:00 PM: The Design Review Board will be meeting at Borough Hall next Tuesday night at 6:00 PM to review and discuss the plans for a residential addition to be built at the rear of 403 Florence Avenue as well as a presentation/plans for exterior feature upgrades at 440 York Road.
Planning Commission Meeting – Tuesday, November 19th, 2019 6:30 PM: The Planning Commission will hold their regularly scheduled public meeting at Borough Hall next Tuesday at 6:30 PM. The agenda is posted to the Borough website and can be found here. Items on this months agenda include; Jenkintown Historic Resource Survey, an update on the Cedar Street Moretti Park and discussions regarding EV Charging Stations.
Final Public Budget Meeting – Wednesday November 20th 6:00 PM: The final public budget workshop will take place at Borough Hall next Wednesday at 6:00 PM. During this workshop the Borough will be reviewing the proposed 2020 budget. This meeting focuses on 05 Library, 08 Sewer, 09 Solid Waste, 18 Street Tax, 20 Debt Service, 31 Capital Projects, 35 Liquid Fuels, 60 Police Pension, and 65 Non-uniform Pension funds and will review the 01 General Fund as time allows. Vernon Road Closed Tomorrow, November 16th
Jenkintown Borough has been notified by Aqua Pennsylvania’s subcontractor, Caddick Utilities, that Vernon Road between Homestead & Clement Road will be closed to thru traffic on Saturday, November 16th from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily to allow for water services to be safely installed to the individual properties.
Residents will continue to have access to their properties during this process. If you do not reside on one of these roads please plan to take another route during these times to avoid disruption of your travels.
