State Senator Art Haywood is partnering with PECO and hosting a free energy education workshop on Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at La Mott Community Center, 7420 Sycamore Avenue, Elkins Park.

PECO will discuss:

  1. Energy programs available based on income
  2. Tips to weatherize your home in the winter and save you money
  3. Strategies to reduce your overall energy usage
  4. PECO’s smart energy effiecient programs

Light refreshments will be served and giveaways from PECO!

Jenkintown Holiday Story Walk

Jenkintown shops are inviting families and shoppers to enjoy the magic of the season while they Shop Local this Holiday, taking you on an enchanting journey through the Holiday Story Walk.

This year’s heart-warming Holiday Story has been written by students from the Jenkintown High School Literary Magazine (The Lit Mag). Help us spread holiday cheer by uncovering the story one store at a time – it’s sure to please both young and old!

Changes to this weeks leaf collection schedule

Due to weather conditions and the current forecast of inclement weather, Jenkintown Borough Public Works will complete today’s curbside leaf collection of Route 4, Wednesday, December 4th. Subsequently, Route 5 collection will be performed on Thursday, December 5th.  We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

If you are unsure of your current leaf route you can find 2019 Curbside Leaf Collection Schedule here.

Sanitary Sewer Lining Project Update

Phase Two of the Sanitary Sewer Lining Project will continue on Wednesday, November 27th 2019 on Washington Lane between Newbold and Vernon Roads and West Avenue between Walnut Street and Highland Avenue from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM.  Township Line Road will remain open however flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control due to temporary lane closures. 

These intermittent temporary delays in the area are to allow for life safety of personnel from National Water Main Cleaning Company, who are completing the spot repairs. This work being completed at this time should not cause any disruption to water / sewer service to residents. Read More »
