SCHEDULED WORK NOTICE – Railroad Tie Replacement Project, West Trenton Line
WHAT: SEPTA will complete a railroad tie replacement project along the West Trenton Regional Rail Line. Crews will begin at Jenkintown-Wyncote Station and will work their way toward Neshaminy Falls Station. Crews will also trim trees. Work will mainly take place along the track right-of-way, but crews will be using the northbound layoff track at Jenkintown-Wyncote Station to store track equipment each night. Read More »

Montgomery County Special Collection Schedules 2020

Each year, the Montgomery County Commissioners authorize free events to prevent hazardous materials from being improperly disposed of. Tire Collection Events for Montgomery County Residents 
Beginning on Saturday May 9th in Blue Bell PA, Montgomery County will be hosting three tire collection events across the county, in hopes to prevent tires from being improperly disposed of and to reduce breeding grounds for disease carrying mosquitoes. The tires that are collected will be shredded and re-purposed by a local business into products for civil engineering and playground material. Jenkintown Borough Unveils New “Lawn/Leaf” Recycle Truck

Jenkintown Borough is excited to announce the arrival of their brand new leaf / yard waste collection truck. In August 2018, the Borough applied for and was awarded grant funding through the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PA Dep), 902 Recycling Grant to purchase this 2020 Mack Truck w/ Leach 20 yard Compactor. The Borough’s current equipment was at the end of it’s life cycle and had begun to negatively affect the PW maintenance budget on a regular basis. The entire purchase price of $194,632.77 will be covered through grant funding received through PaDep 902 and 904 grants at no cost to Jenkintown Borough.

Sanitary Sewer Lining Project Update

The Public Sanitary Sewer Lining Project continues the week of Monday, March 2, 2020 on the following streets between the hours of  8:45 AM and 5:00 PM.  All properties will receive door hangers 24 hours in advance of work being performed on that street.

  • West Avenue between Walnut Street & Highland Avenue

A revised, current schedule of the cured in place pipe (CIPP) spot repairs is attached here for your convenience and planning purposes. If there are any special circumstances that require the Contractor or Borough Engineers attention the numbers to contact them are provided below so that coordination can take place.
