This year, Brownie Troop 73632 is the ONLY troop in Jenkintown Borough selling Girl Scout Cookies! Since all of the grocery store booths were cancelled due to the pandemic, we have decided to hold a Driveway Cookie Sale & Food Cupboard Collection on Sunday, February 14 from 12 – 2 p.m. The flyer attached hereopens IMAGE file shows the location of the houses where community members can stop by to purchase cookies or to donate toothbrushes and toothpaste to the Jenkintown Food Cupboard (their current collection request).

Mayor Dobbs has declared a snow emergency in the Borough of Jenkintown beginning today, February 6th, 8:00 PM expiring Sunday, February 7th at 8:00 PM. Residents with access to a driveway are asked to please park in it. If you do not have access to a driveway please park as close to the curb as possible to allow for the safe passage of the Borough plow trucks. The forecast is for a significant snow accumulation (4-7″) with some freezing rain. The low temperatures and anticipated wintry mix are expected to make for treacherous driving conditions throughout this winter storm. If you must travel please take along the recommended safety gear and allow extra time to navigate the expected icy roads. The Public Works Department has been preparing for the potential threat of severe weather currently forecasted to begin Sunday February 7th. According to the most recent update by the National Weather Service the storm forecast to begin with prolonged snowfall and potential significant accumulations combined with a possible wintery mix which will create unsafe travel conditions. Jenkintown Borough has been notified by our contracted trash haulers, Republic Services that curbside trash and recycling will take place as originally scheduled tomorrow. Curbside trash and recycling will be collected this week on Friday, February 5th, 2021.Read More »
