No Delay to Curbside Trash & Recycling Pick Up

Despite the July 4th Independence Day Holiday. There will be no delay to the curbside collection of trash and recycling this week.

Curbside collection of trash and recycling will take place as usual on Friday, July 9th, 2021.

Important Borough Meeting Information

Borough Council Meeting, Wednesday, June 23rd at 7:00 PM is required to be held in person. The Council meeting agenda can be found here

Due to the limited size of the Borough Council meeting room at Borough hall and this being the first in-person meeting since the pandemic shut down of over one year ago, arrangements have been made to temporarily hold the next couple public meetings in an alternative location while things are sorted out and more permanent arrangements can be made.

This Borough Council meeting will be held at Immaculate Conception Church, Father Conahan Hall, 602 West Ave., Jenkintown 19046. (Father Conahan Hall, can be accessed by parking in the main Church lot off of Greenwood Avenue, proceed North toward West Avenue between the Church and School buildings, the entrance will be on your left hand side)

At this time, the Borough will continue to livestream all scheduled public meetings including Committee and Borough Council meetings on the Borough’s Facebook page for the convenience, safety and welfare of all participants who choose to participate in that manner. The livestreaming process may face some technical difficulties when the meetings are also held in-person at the temporary alternative locations. The public will be able to submit comments beforehand to the Borough Manager at glocke@jenkintownboro.comcreate new email. Please include your name and address in the comment. Comments submitted to glocke@jenkintownboro.comcreate new email prior to 4:30 PM the night of the meeting will be read during the public meeting. Curbside Trash & Recycling Pick Up Delayed

Due to the observance of the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday, May 31st, the Borough’s curbside trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day and will be collected on Saturday, June 5th, 2021.

2020 Paving Project to Commence on May 25th

Jenkintown Borough would like to announce that the 2020 paving project is set to begin. This paving project includes the following roads: Vernon Road (Clement Road to Washington Lane), Homestead Road (Newbold to York Roads) and Hillside Avenue (Highland Avenue to Walnut Street).

The Borough’s paving Contractor, Joseph E. Sucher & Sons, Inc., is scheduled to begin the milling and paving operation on Tuesday May 25th. The paving project is expected to be completed by Friday May 28th. Joseph E. Sucher & Sons, Inc. will be posting no parking signs on Monday, May 24th, to notify residents of the upcoming milling and paving project process. Affected residents will also receive notification from the contractor prior to the commencement of the project. There will be continued communication and updates during this project that will include scheduling, parking, road restrictions and or closures if applicable during this operation. Below is important information from the Borough regarding the Public Meeting Schedule, Administration & Police Department Clerical hours, as well as the Special Collections Schedule for the month of May:

MAY PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULE

At this time, the Borough will continue to livestream all scheduled public meetings including committee and Borough Council meetings on the Borough’s Facebook page for the safety and welfare of all participants. The Borough had begun the process to transition the livestreaming of all public meetings to the YouTube platform in lieu of the current Facebook application. This process has not moved forward due to the volume of hearings and meetings taking place at this time.
