Important Thanksgiving Weekend and Holiday Season Activity Information
Below is important information from the Borough regarding the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and holiday activities occurring in Town Square:
Borough Hall Closed – November 25th, 2021 and November 26th, 2021: Jenkintown Borough Hall will be closed on Thursday, November 25th, 2021 and Friday, November 26th, 2021 in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday. Borough Hall will reopen on Monday, November 29th, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, trash and recycling Collection will be collected on Saturday, November 27th, 2021.
Town Square Menorah Lighting: The Town Square Menorah will be lit for the Hanukkah holiday, however there will be no public lighting celebration. The first candle will be lit at sunset on Sunday, November 28th, 2021. There will be a Menorah Lighting event at 610 York Road. Information regarding that event to follow.
Light Up The Square: The annual Holiday Tree Lighting event will be held on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in Town Square. There will be music, refreshments, and a special visit from Santa at about 6:45 p.m.
Holiday Parking: Jenkintown Borough is pleased to announce that the holiday parking schedule begins Saturday, November 27th, 2021 and will continue through the end of December. Metered parking is free Wednesday evenings after 4pm and all-day Saturday and Sunday. Fees are waived on those dates/times at any metered spot on the street or in either municipal lot.
Borough Hall Closed – December 24th, 2021: Jenkintown Borough Hall will be closed on Friday, December 24th, 2021 in recognition of the Christmas holiday. Borough Hall will reopen on Monday, December 27th, 2021 at 8:00 a.m.
Borough Hall Closed – December 31st, 2021: Jenkintown Borough Hall will be closed on Friday, December 31st, 2021 in recognition of the New Year. Borough Hall will reopen on Monday, January 3rd, 2022 at 8:00 a.m.
