Jenkintown borough has been asked to share the following information for the opens in a new window“Reverse Caroling Event”opens PDF file , Sunday, December 20, 2020 starting at 3 PM. This is not a Borough event.
How it works: people come out to their porches to sing, play music, wave hello, etc. while others walk past to enjoy the sights/sounds from a safe social distance. We will run this in 45-minute shifts/sections so that everyone gets a chance to be both caroler and carolee. A map with the route and showtimes can be found here: opens in a new windowhttps://bit.ly/38bvCvD.
Who can participate: ANYONE! You don’t have to sing; you don’t have to be into Christmas; this is about spreading cheer your way. Get out there, and you do you (or throw open your windows and do your thing from inside)! If you want to be added to this map, please email opens in a new windowjenk.community@gmail.comcreate new email by Sunday at noon. If you’d like, you can print and display the official Jenkintown Reverse Caroling sign attached to this message, which you can find attached to this message or here: opens in a new windowhttps://bit.ly/3p39SZD
Map legend (also available on the map itself):
Guitars = Musicians
Stars = Everything else!
Red = 3:00-3:45
Purple = 3:45-4:30
Green = 4:30-5:15
Orange = 6:00-8:00 event at JDA ($)
Locations provided on map may not be over the exact house – they’re in the general vicinity.
The map will be updated up until Sunday at 1:00 PM. It is important to view it by clicking the link and not just looking at it in preview, since that may not update immediately.
Special notes: Make sure you maintain social distance at all times; please wear masks, and please stay on the sidewalks! You may want to bring a flashlight for walking in the dark during the later portions of the event (and you don’t want to miss those, Cedar 100 in particular has a lot of participation). If we need to cancel this event, due to weather, we will post the announcement on the Jenkintown Community Page and Proud Parents of Jenkintown page on Facebook. We will try to also send out an email blast. Basically, if there’s a good chance of rain Sunday during caroling times, check before heading out.
Happy Holidays!
