Please see the following message provided by the Jenkintown Environmental Advisory Committee regarding the invasive spotted lanternfly:
This is a reminder that if you have seen the nymph stage of spotted lanternfly on your grapevines, other fruit trees, or on ailanthus trees (tree of eternity, a pernicious invasive and the principal host of these destructive insects) on your property, you only have a few days to eradicate them before they metamorphose to the next stage which 1) will be able to reproduce and 2) will be able to fly, making them much harder to kill.
The Jenkintown Environmental Advisory Committee (JEAC) is here to help you. Please email us at questionsforJEAC@gmail.comcreate new email and let us know if you have questions or need assistance.
Additionally, the Penn State Extension provides very helpful guidance for spotted lanternfly management and reporting guidelines opens in a new windowhere.
