Mayor Dobbs would like to let residents know that the Jenkintown Police Department has a permanent drop box in the lobby of the Jenkintown Police Department that is available for medication drop off 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The drugs should be placed in a sealed container such as the original bottle or a zip lock bag (liquids should remain in the original container) and remove any personal information or obscure it with a permanent marker. Needles and intravenous injectable solutions would not accept here, however can be taken back to Abington Hospital’s Emergency Room for proper disposal.
Residents can bring the medications to the Jenkintown Police Department and place in the drop box Monday – Friday during the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Should drop off take place after business hours, residents are encouraged to pick up the phone outside the Police Department or dial 215-884-1200 from their own phone so non-emergency dispatch can send an officer to meet outside for proper disposal.
