2019 PAVING PROJECT PROGRESS UPDATE – All milling and paving on this project was successfully completed today.
The entire project is expected to be completed by days end tomorrow. The Borough has negotiated a joint municipal agreement with Abington Township to have the thermoplastic traffic control striping installed at a savings to the Jenkintown Borough tax payers. That traffic control striping (school zones, cross walks, stop bars, etc.) is being installed this afternoon and early evening.
Tomorrows project work schedule includes; completion of pavement edge sealing and cleaning up of any left over construction debris, installation of the thermoplastic double yellow line on the centerline of Walnut Street (the Borough has contracted with Guidemark Inc. to perform this task 11:00 am). Once all work is complete a final punch list of any remaining actions required by the contractor will be generated and the project payment and closeout process will begin.
Avoidance of the project area is still recommended while work is being performed for the safety of the General Public and Contractors performing the work, as well as to avoid possible delays.
The Borough is excited to have this project completed and would like to thank all the residents and School District for their patience and understanding during the infrastructure work and the restoration and repaving of the streets.
