Snow Emergency Declared by Mayor Dobbs

Mayor Dobbs has declared a snow emergency in the Borough of Jenkintown beginning today, 4:00 PM and expiring 4:00 PM tomorrow, Monday March 4th, 2019. Residents with a driveway are asked to please park in it.  If you do not have a driveway please park as close to the curb as possible to allow for safe passage of the Borough plow trucks. The forecast snow accumulation currently varies greatly (from 2″ to 8″), and differs by agency making the prediction. The temperatures are expected to make the roads very slippery throughout the night and in to rush hour traffic. If you must travel please take along the recommended safety gear and allow extra time to navigate the expected icy roads. The Jenkintown Police Department and Public Works Department will be staffed throughout the entire storm and are prepared to respond accordingly.

  • Borough Hall will open late for business tomorrow:  Borough Hall will be open for business, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Monday, March 4th, 2019.
  • Public Works: The Jenkintown Borough Public Works Department began preparing the equipment and roads in the Borough today in preparation for the storm and will continue to work through the duration of the storm salting and plowing when needed in order to keep the roads clear for emergency vehicles.
