Recycling this Holiday Season

Have string lights that aren’t working? Or any string lights that you simply don’t feel like untangling? Jenkintown Borough is collecting string lights on behalf of the Borough’s Environmental Action Committee. You can drop lights off in the collection box located in Jenkintown Borough Hall’s vestibule. On Tuesday, January 8th, the collection box will be picked up by the EAC and the lights will be recycled properly. Please feel free to let neighbors and friends know about this wonderful opportunity to remove waste from land fills.

Every year around this time, millions of gifts are given and received across the country due to the several holiday events that take place. The Borough and the Borough’s EAC hope that this blast can help inform the residents of Jenkintown on how to best dispose of this years holiday wrappings.

The Jenkintown EAC has put together this Naughty and Nice’  list for residents to use this holiday season. Please take a second out of your busy holiday schedule to read up on how to properly dispose of your gift wrappings and packing to prevent a ‘very wasteful’ holiday.

Should you have any questions, please contact Borough Hall at (215) 885-0700.
