Paving Project Progress Update

Today, Thursday, October 25th, the Borough’s subcontractor, General Asphalt Paving Co., has begun the milling of Hillside Avenue between West Avenue and York Road as well as Leedom Street between Hillside Avenue and Clovery Avenue.

General Asphalt Co. will be completing the milling work on Leedom Street, as well as the hand work and intersection milling on Hillside Avenue tomorrow, Friday, October 26th. Additionally, General Asphalt Co. will complete the milling of Florence Avenue between West Avenue and Runnymede Avenue tomorrow. This work will take place between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM. During the milling process the roads will be open to through traffic with limited delays and residents will have access to driveways, however there will still be “Temporary No Parking” on Hillside Avenue between West Avenue & York Road, Leedom Street between Hillside & Clovery Avenues and Florence Avenue between West & Runnymede Avenues, so that the work can be completed without obstructions. General Asphalt intends to complete the entire milling operation by the end of day tomorrow, October 26th.

The paving operation is currently scheduled to take place on Monday, October 29th and Tuesday, October 30th beginning with Hillside Avenue on Monday morning. Although parking on Hillside Avenue, Leedom Street and Florence Avenue will be permitted over the weekend, all cars must be removed from these roads prior to 6:30 AM on Monday, October 29th so the paving operation can take place.

Please be aware that during the paving operation the aforementioned roads will be closed to through traffic, residents will not have continuous access to their driveways and will not be able to access their driveway until the paving has cooled for traffic. Residents with driveways are encouraged to use them, and properties using street parking will need to find alternate locations during the project.
