Jenkintown SD hopes to provide an environment where muralist Art Teacher Mr. Slowik has the resources to develop a variety of community-engaging public art projects. These can range in scope and scale, but projects may include: wall murals in halls and stairways, exterior murals on places like sporting field walls, painted soffits and areas above lockers, etc. The mural design process will engage students and community members, resulting in rich and meaningful imagery. These funds will act as a type of seed funding to facilitate the creation of initial projects as part of the greater vision. Spaces in the school that have been identified by leadership as specific immediate needs are: The Elementary School Library’s newly created “Maker-Space” and a high traffic hall in the Middle/High School that has a large blank wall. Additional locations have been identified, and will be addressed as resources are available.”

Thank you for voting daily!
