Today, Tuesday, October 30th, the Borough’s subcontractor, General Asphalt Paving Co., has begun paving on Hillside Avenue between Walnut Street and York Road, Leedom Street between Hillside Avenue and Cloverly Avenue. The paving operation is scheduled to continue tomorrow on Wednesday, October 31st. The operation will begin on the 400 block of Hillside Avenue and will continue onto Florence Avenue between Walnut Street and Runnymede Avenue.
This process will begin at 7:00 AM and is expected to end at 4:00 PM. All cars must be removed from the roads mentioned above prior to 6:30 AM on Wednesday, October 31st so the paving operation can safely take place. Additionally, there will be temporary road closures on the 100 block of Cedar Street due to the installation of a traffic control speed hump. Please be aware of the ‘No Parking’ signs that have been posted along the roads where work will be taking place.
During the paving operation all of the aforementioned roads will be closed to through traffic, residents will not have continuous access to their driveways and will not be able to access their driveway until the paving has cooled for traffic. Residents with driveways are encouraged to use them, and properties using street parking will need to find alternate locations during this project.
