Snow Emergency Declared by Mayor Dobbs

Mayor Dobbs has declared a snow emergency in the Borough of Jenkintown beginning tonight, 9:00 PM and expiring 9:00 PM Thursday, March 8th, 2018. Current forecasts are calling for 8″ to 12″ of snow. Residents with a driveway are asked to please park in it so that the roads can be cleared for emergency vehicles.  If you do not have a driveway please park as close to the curb as possible to allow for safe passage of the Borough plow trucks. The County has declared a “Code Blue” due to the expected frigid temperatures. All County Offices will be closed tomorrow and the EMC has asked that non-essential personnel not report for duty. If you must travel please take along the recommended safety gear and allow extra time to navigate the expected icy roads. The Jenkintown Police Department and Public Works Department will be fully staffed throughout the storm.

  • Borough Hall will be closed for business tomorrow:  Borough Hall will re-open for business, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Thursday, March 8th, 2018.
  • Public Works: The Jenkintown Borough Public Works Department began preparing the equipment and roads in the Borough today in preparation for the storm and will continue to work through the duration of the storm salting and plowing as needed in order to keep the roads clear for emergency vehicles.
