The J.P.D. and the Borough Public Works Department have worked throughout the storm and expect to be wrapping up those operations within the next few hours. The forecast is calling for single digit and negative temperatures until Monday, January 8th. The frigid temperatures will cause icing and dangerous conditions. Salting operations will continue to be deployed as needed to make the roadways safe.
Borough wide Trash and Recycling curbside pick up is still scheduled for Saturday, January 6th, 2018.
Attention – Please be advised. Borough Ordinance 156 Article III Snow and Ice Removal now requires the owner of a property or the tenant or occupant of the property where such property is occupied by such tenant or occupant only, to clear the sidewalk of snow and/or ice to a minimum width of three (3) feet, within 24 hours after the snow ceases to fall or form. This is very important for the life safety of pedestrians (including school children utilizing the sidewalk to attend school). The Snow and Ice Removal Ordinance is enforced by the Jenkintown Police Department.

If you use a power generator, please make sure the generator is located outside in the open air for proper ventilation.
