Dear Friends,
The Independence Day holiday has come and gone, which means we’re drawing closer to that other mark-your-summertime-calendar event: My fifth annual Senior Fair, which will be held this year from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 31st at Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel, 8339 Old York Rd. in Elkins Park, 19027. Don’t forget to RSVP!
Nearly 100 exhibitors — including representatives from federal, state, county and local agencies such as Transnet, Aging and Adult Services and Veterans Affairs offices of Montgomery County, as well as non-government exhibitors — will be there to offer information on health care, volunteer opportunities, prescription-drug plans, identity theft and so much more.
Seniors also can apply for SEPTA Senior Key Photo ID cards (with a state license or state non-driver’s photo ID) and receive flu shots (with proof of insurance) and Montgomery County Veterans’ Photo ID Discount cards (with military discharge paperwork—a DD214 or DD256 form) on-site.
Last year’s event was a tremendous success. Check out the brief video, here, to get an idea of what you can expect.
The 2017 Senior Fair is shaping up to be just as fun and information-packed. Don’t forget to circle August 31st on your calendar and forward this letter to family or friends who may be interested and able to attend.
To help my staff get a better idea of our potential turnout, please RSVP here. Parking is always a bit tight — plan to carpool if you can!
As always, if you have any questions about this or any other state-government-related matter, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office.
Hope to see you on August 31st!
Sincerely,
Steve McCarter
