DEAR NEIGHBOR:
The Jenkintown Volunteer Fire Department is once again proud to sponsor the Borough’s Annual 4th of July Celebration. This year’s parade will be on Tuesday, July 4th, at 11:30 A.M. with a rain date of Saturday, July 8th, at 11:30 A.M.
The Celebration will once again feature a Parade of our local fire trucks, color Guard, bands and decorated bikes for children. In addition, various community service groups including The Boys Scouts and J.Y.A. will also be attendance. Being a safety oriented organization we would ask that any child riding a bike through the parade route that are under the age of 12 wear a bike helmet. At the conclusion of the Parade, we will award prizes in the Town Square for the Best Decorated Bikes. This year’s awards will be divided into three (3) categories; Strollers & Wagons, Tricycles and Bikes. We will also feature games for all ages, including the “Peanut Scramble,” “Egg Toss,” and various “Hula Hoop Contest.”
This year’s Parade Route will begin on Leedom Street and Greenwood Avenue. It will proceed North on Leedom Street to Hillside Avenue, West on Hillside Avenue to Walnut Street, South on Walnut Street to West Avenue and commence at the Town Square on Leedom Street. We will be serving hot dogs and cold beverages at the Pioneer Fire Company.
Sincerely,
THE JENKINTOWN VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
