Winter Storm Jonas is finally over!

The historic blizzard of 2016, “Winter Storm Jonas”, has finally moved out of our region and the storm clean-up continues. The Borough Administration, Emergency Management Coordinator, Public Works Department, Police Department and Borough Fire Chief coordinated efforts on the storm response. The Public Works Department began the storm response last Wednesday with the cleaning of inlets and brining of roads. The snow began falling on Friday, January 22nd at 8:00 PM and did not slow down until Midnight on Saturday January 23rd. Continue reading Winter Storm Jonas is finally over!

Trash Collection for Friday 1/22

Due to the potential snow storm coming on Friday January 22nd, trash collection will begin 1 hour earlier, at 6 a.m., to allow enough time for the crew to safely travel to and from the transfer station.

Electronics Recycling Event!

There will be an Electronics Recycling Event Tomorrow

Saturday, January 16, 2016 – 10:00am to 2:00pm

Cosponsored by the Weavers Way Environment Committee and GrInCH (Green in Chestnut Hill). Anything with a plug! Collection takes place in the circular driveway of Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, off Germantown Avenue.  The address of the academy is 8891 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia PA 19118.

Note: Recycler requires $20 to take TVs and computer monitors, and $1 per pound for batteries. For a complete list of acceptable items, visit: This event benefits the Environment Committee’s grant program and GrInCH’s student grants. Suggested donation: $10-$20.
