Recently the reports of raccoon sightings have increased in the Borough of Jenkintown. We ask that you please read the information here carefully, as wildlife is a serious public safety concern. Jenkintown Borough is aware that raccoons exist and we are actively working to provide information on dealing with the issues this presents. We ask that if you encounter a raccoon during the day please notify Jenkintown Borough Hall at (215) 885-0700. Raccoons are nocturnal animals and daytime sightings may be an indication of an unhealthy animal. As cute and friendly as these animals appear, we ask that you remember they are wild animals and should not be approached at any time.
