Greenwood Avenue is scheduled to be closed on Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Leedom Street and York Road due to PECO replacing gas mains. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We have been notified by PECO and PennDOT that West Avenue will be closed Friday, July 18th and Monday, July 21st between York Road and Leedom Street for replacement of gas mains. The roadway will be open over the weekend for your convenience.

Summer Music Series – July 15, 2014 CANCELED
Tonight’s Summer Music Series event scheduled on Town Square has been CANCELED due to anticipated severe weather.
We hope to see you next week, July 22, 2014 as popular rock band “Tropical Disease” plays a unique blend of classic rock covers from the 60′s, 70′s and 80′s, featuring a heavy dose of the Rolling Stones with side trips through the catalogs of bands like Velvet Underground, Faces and Taj Mahal. As usual, be sure to grab your free ice pops or grab some ice cream or dessert dumplings from our wonderful vendors in the Square.

PECO has notified the Borough that its gas main rehabilitation project will begin July 7, 2014. This high-priority PECO project will replace the aging gas supply infrastructure throughout the Borough, with the goal of eliminating the service disruptions the borough has experienced in recent years. Jenkintown Borough is proud to hold its annual 4th of July Parade, sponsored by the Jenkintown Volunteer Fire Department. This year’s parade will be on Friday, July 4th, 2014 at 11:30 A.M. with a rain date of Saturday, July 5th, 2014 at 11:30 A.M.
The celebration will once again feature a parade of local fire trucks, color guard, bands, and decorated bikes for children. At the conclusion of the Parade, awards will be given in Town Square for the Best Decorated Bikes. This year’s awards will be divided into three (3) categories; Strollers & Wagons, Tricycles, and Bikes. There will also be games for all ages, including the “Peanut Scramble,” “Egg Toss,” and various “Hula Hoop Contests.”
This year’s parade route will begin on Leedom Street and Greenwood Avenue. It will proceed North on Leedom Street to Hillside Avenue, West on Hillside Avenue to Walnut Street, South on Walnut Street to West Avenue and commence at the Town Square on Leedom Street. Hot dogs and cold beverages will be served at the Pioneer Fire Company.
