The Public Works Department has been preparing for the potential threat of severe weather currently forecasted to begin Thursday, February 18th and continue into Friday, February 19th. Important February Information

Below is important information from the Borough regarding the Administration hours, as well as the Public Meeting and Special Collections Schedule:

BOROUGH ADMINISTRATION OFFICE HOURS

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic and the rapid increase in positive cases, the Borough Administration Office will be open for in person services by appointment only during the hours of 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. In addition, the Borough Administration’s office phone switch board will be open from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. All calls outside of the above schedule will be directed to the appropriate party for resolution.

Borough Hall Closed, February 15th, 2021 Presidents Day: Jenkintown Borough Hall will be closed on Monday, February 15th, 2021 in recognition of the Presidents Day holiday. Borough Hall will reopen on Tuesday, February 16th, 2021.
FEBRUARY PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULE

At this time, the Borough will continue to livestream all scheduled public meetings including committee and Borough Council meetings on the Borough’s Facebook page for the safety and welfare of all participants. Beginning in March 2021, the livestream of all Borough public meetings will be broadcast via YouTube platform in lieu of the current Facebook application. Additional announcements on this platform migration to follow. A meeting schedule for the February 2021 meetings and a link to the websites meeting minutes/agendas has been provided below for your reference.

The public will be able to submit comments beforehand to the Borough Manager at glocke@jenkintownboro.comcreate new email. Please include your name and address in the comment. Driveway Cookie Sale & Jenkintown Food Cupboard Collection

The Borough has been asked to share the following information:

This year, Brownie Troop 73632 is the ONLY troop in Jenkintown Borough selling Girl Scout Cookies! Since all of the grocery store booths were cancelled due to the pandemic, we have decided to hold a Driveway Cookie Sale & Food Cupboard Collection on Sunday, February 14 from 12 – 2 p.m. The flyer attached hereopens IMAGE file shows the location of the houses where community members can stop by to purchase cookies or to donate toothbrushes and toothpaste to the Jenkintown Food Cupboard (their current collection request).

Snow Emergency Declared by Mayor Dobbs

Mayor Dobbs has declared a snow emergency in the Borough of Jenkintown beginning today, February 6th, 8:00 PM expiring Sunday, February 7th at 8:00 PM. Residents with access to a driveway are asked to please park in it.  If you do not have access to a driveway please park as close to the curb as possible to allow for the safe passage of the Borough plow trucks. The forecast is for a significant snow accumulation (4-7″) with some freezing rain. The low temperatures and anticipated wintry mix are expected to make for treacherous driving conditions throughout this winter storm. If you must travel please take along the recommended safety gear and allow extra time to navigate the expected icy roads.
