RE: Vehicle Safety
05/5/2008
I want to remind all residents and business owners, who park and leave their car for any length of time in the Borough to please, LOCK the car doors.
The Jenkintown Police Department does not want to receive reports of cars being entered at night or during the day, due to un-locked, easy access car doors. Keeping the doors locked will help prevent car thefts and thefts from the car.
Believe it or not, there are people who walk the streets looking for easy targets. DON'T BE A VICTIM, LOCK YOUR CAR.
Please call the Jenkintown Police Department at 215-884-1202 for more details about safety and crime prevention.
Please notify the Police Department if you observe or suspect any suspicious activity in your neighborhood. Thank you.
Chief Albert DiValentino

RE: Notification of Speed Bump Installation
04/15/2008
As a result of a recommendation from the Police Chief and an action by Borough Council, the Jenkintown Highway Department will install (2) speed bumps in the 100 block of Walnut Street, between Washington Lane and Summit Avenue and (2) speed bumps on Summit Avenue between Walnut Street and Wyncote Road.
This is a result of complaints received by the residents, regarding speeding in these areas.
Together, with police enforcement and the addition of speed bumps, I am confident that speeding in these areas will be limited and or terminated.
