Update: Sanitary Sewer Lining Project Night work to be performed Monday, August 10th through Thursday, August 13th

The Public Sanitary Sewer Lining Project continues Monday, August 10th through Thursday, August 13th on the following streets between the hours of  7:00 PM and 4:00 AM.  Flaggers will be on site during this night work to assist with traffic control due to temporary lane closures.  Door hangers have been placed on the properties that will be affected. Update: PECO Junction Box Adjustment and Sidewalk Repair Project

The Borough has been notified by PECO’s subcontractor, Miller Bros. that the junction box adjustment and sidewalk repairs project in the Jenkintown Borough business district will continue tomorrow, August 10th through Thursday, August 13th from 7:00 AM until 3:00 PM on York Road from Cherry Street to West Avenue.  Areas affected by this work will be posted with temporary ‘no parking’ signs to allow for the work to be completed safely.  Entrance to businesses will be maintained throughout this process.

Jenkintown Borough Public Works will Hold their Next Scheduled “Special Collection” on Wednesday, August 19th

As the Borough continues to take necessary safety precautions during this CODIV-19 emergency, the Jenkintown Public Works Department will continue with limited special/ bulk trash collections in August.  The next scheduled “Special Collection” will take place on Wednesday, August 19th.  Your collection request must be submitted no later than Tuesday, August 18th at 4:00 PM so a complete list can be compiled and provided to the PW Foreman for route scheduling.

COVID-19: Small Business Grant Application Round 2 Opens August 10th!

COVID-19 Grants for PA Small Businesses

The opens in a new windowCOVID-19 Relief Statewide Small Business Assistance Program will open its second application window at 9AM on August 10. This will be the final opportunity to apply for the program. The application window will remain open for 15 business days, closing at 11:59PM on August 28.
Pennsylvania small businesses are encouraged to apply for relief if they:

  • Had 25 or fewer full-time employees prior to February 15, 2020
  • Have annual revenues of $1 million or less, and
  • Were economically impacted by COVID-19

All applications must be made through a  opens in a new windowCommunity Development Financial Institution (CDFI) in the county where their business is located.
If you already applied during the first application window, you will be notified of your status by August 10. You do not need to reapply in the second round. Qualified applications will be automatically rolled over into this next funding round for consideration.
