YORK ROAD LANE CLOSURE

The southbound right hand lane on York Road (PA Route 611) in Jenkintown Borough will experience a lane closure during the period from Saturday, June 7 through Monday, June 9 from West Ave. to Greenwood Ave. This closure is being done for safety purposes for the rehabilitation project occurring at 301-305 York Road. SUMMER MUSIC SERIES EVENT FOR MAY 27, 2014 – CANCELLED

Tonight’s Summer Music Series event scheduled on Town Square has been CANCELLED due to anticipated severe weather.
We hope to see you next week, June 3, 2014, as local favorites “Too Short Otis” welcome runners of the Sunset 5K Run with their electric rock and blues sound. Then, join us on June 10, 2014 for the retro sounds of the GTVs and FREE ICE CREAM.

The sound of music will be wafting through the trees of Jenkintown’s beautiful Town Square this summer, with free, live music scheduled for every Tuesday night, at 7 p.m., beginning this Tuesday, May 27, 2014. With something for everyone, from retro to rock, folk and jazz, Irish to Italian, covers to originals, American to British, surfer, bluegrass, and children’s performances, Jenkintown’s Town Square will be the place to be this summer. MEMORIAL DAY PARADE – MAY 26, 2014

The McKeown-Zane VFW Post No. 1711 and the Jenkintown Fire Department are pleased to present their Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 26, 2014.
The Parade will begin in front of Jenkintown High School at 10:30 a.m. and will travel north on West Ave. to Leedom St. and east on Leedom St. to Jenkintown Borough Hall. A short ceremony will be held at Borough Hall following the parade.

NIGHT WORK SCHEDULED FOR THE GREENWOOD AVE. BRIDGE

Borough officials have been notified that night work has been scheduled for the Greenwood Ave. Bridge Replacement Project during the week of May 19, 2014. The purpose of this scheduled night work is to complete work over SEPTA’s facilities. The Borough will continue to notify residents if additional night work is scheduled.
