Reminder: Limited Special/ Bulk Collections in June -Next Scheduled “Special Collection” is Wednesday, June 17th

The Jenkintown Public Works team has worked to create a solution to resume with special collections in June during this emergency. The transfer facility has re-opened and the means and methods to safely proceed with collections has been developed.

The next scheduled Special/Bulk Collection will take place on Wednesday, June 17th.  Your collection request must be submitted no later than Tuesday, June 16th at 4:00 PM so a complete list can be compiled and provided to the PW Foreman for route scheduling. Read More »

PECO Accelerated Gas Infrastructure Modernization Project Update

Installation of New Gas Mains
The Borough has been notified by PECO’s subcontractor, Henkels & McCoy, that the Accelerated Gas Infrastructure Modernization Project (AGIMP) will continue Monday, June 8th.  Walnut Street between Hillside and West Avenues will have temporary lane closures for approximately one week beginning Monday, June 8th from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM to allow for the installation of new gas mains to be safely completed in this area.  Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control due to temporary lane closures. 

Residents will continue to have access to their properties during this process.  If you do not reside on this road please take another route during these times to avoid disruption of your travels.

Natural Gas Service Upgrades
PECO has completed installation of new gas mains and will begin natural gas service upgrades outside of homes beginning Monday, June 8th on Florence Avenue between West and Runnymede Avenues.  PECO will not need access inside of homes at this time.  Only necessary work will be completed outside from the gas main trench to the property line. Any areas impacted will be repaired and ALL areas will be restored to their original condition.
