Abington Friends Pool Memberships
Jenkintown Rec Board is pleased to announce that Abington Friends School has invited Jenkintown residents to join its swim club for for 2010.
For a fee of $350 per family, residents may enjoy the school’s two pools during the times that AFS summer camp is not in session — between 3:30 and 7 p.m. weekdays, and 12:30 and 7 p.m. weekends. (When camp ends August 20, weekday hours will expand to 12:30 – 7 p.m. )
The swimming season will run from June 26 through Labor Day.
Both group and individual swim lessons by WSI-certified instructors are also available. (Additional charge for individual swim (lessons.)

Questions and Answers
Does the membership fee depend on the size of the family?
No.
Is there any initiation fee or sponsorship requirement?
No.
Can I drop off my children without an adult?
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Can anyone swim in the deep pool?
Children who want to swim in the deep pool must demonstrate swim skills for the lifeguards.
How many children are considered a "group" for free group swimming lessons?

Are floaty toys permitted in the pool?
Yes, although lifeguards may restrict them based on safety issues.
May members also use the outside basketball courts?
Yes.
Are snacks available?
A small snack stand may be set up based on demand; however, members are welcome to bring their own food/drinks for picnicking outside the pool (i.e., not on the decks). Glass bottles and alcohol are prohibited.
In addition, you may order delivery food such as pizza.
Are deck chairs provided?
A number of chairs are available, but members are invited to bring their own if desired. Any chairs, lounges, etc. brought to the pool
must be brought home each evening.
Can members bring guests?
Yes, for a fee of $8 per guest. Groups of ten or more guests must be cleared in advance.
Is there an "adult swim" period?
Not currently.
How can I pay my family’s membership fee?
Send a check to Abington Friends School, 575 Washington Lane, Jenkintown, PA 19046, or drop off the check directly at the Upper
School.
