Recreation Board
The Jenkintown Rec Board is a volunteer group, funded by the Borough, that organizes community events for Jenkintown residents. Rec Board events in the past have included the Holiday Tree Lighting, Camden Rivershark bus trips, the Not-So-Spooky Haunted Halloween, Poetry on the Square and many others. Rec Board events are a great way to get to know your neighbors and to reconnect with old friends.
The Rec Board could use your help. If you’re interested in joining the fun, contact Chris Davis at 215-669-1653 to find out how you can contribute as either a fulltime member of the Rec Board, or as a helper at one of our events.

Jenkintown River Float
Saturday, July 24 (new date), 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Point Pleasant, PA (Delaware River)
Join your friends and neighbors for a beautiful day of floating down the Delaware. We’ll start the trip at Jenkintown Public Library, where a bus will take you and your family to River Country, a Delaware River float-trip outfitter. There we’ll pick up rafts and tubes and we’ll begin a trip of several hours down the placid river, stopping for the occasional swim in the shallows. The trip costs $20 per person, and is subsidized by the Jenkintown Rec Board.
Last year this event was ONE PERSON shy of capacity. Register early, because you may not be that person this year.
Register and pay for the event online at http://recboard.eventbrite.com/, or, if you wish, you can register online and bring a check or cash to the Jenkintown Library. Please bring your online registration printout to the Library if you wish to pay that way.
More information about the trip is at http://recboard.eventbrite.com/.
